Yesterday I called for Kalonzo Musyoka to show true leadership by standing up and voicing his disapproval on the arrests of the EA Standard journalists. He did so.
Today I call upon, Professor Kivutha Kibwana, former human rights activist and head of the NCEC and Professor Wangari Maathai, our Nobel Peace laureate. How can you sit in this government? You spent many years fighting Moi and his thugs, how can you now sit and dine with Kibaki and his thugs? What is different? It was wrong then, it is wrong now.
Show leadership, show principle, resign.

Maathai has really been silent lately. Wonder if she will be willing to give up her ministerial life of luxury to oppose the government? I wouldnt hold my breath.
I struggle with asking people to resign, at least good people. We need people in the rooms where decisions are made. Someone has to go into the snakepit, especially for those of us who are too distant from the seats of power to handle the snakes.
I am less critical of Maatha’s motives. Given her past record, I’m not sure she’s living in ministerial splendor. And, if she gives even a fraction of her huge salary to development projects, then some good is being done.
I respect that she dares to go where many of us will not or cannot for various reasons.
Not sure if anyone is still reading this, but I just found out that Mathaai will be delivering a lecture at my alma-mater (Boston University) on March 22, those in Boston should definitely check it out (www.bu.edu) for more info.
If this is a typical lecture than there will be a Q&A session, and I personally plan to ask her how she feels about this whole Anglo-Leasing Scandal and what she is doing about it? If you guys have any questions you would like to put forward to her, than definitely let me know. I’ll keep checking on here or you can hit me up at bu_boy19@yahoo.com.
Should make for a very intriguing discussion.
