You are now bookmarked. Enjoyed your commentary and after reading your list of rules I feel I am at a place where I wont end up leaving sicker and angrier than when I came in. Currently so angry and scared for our brothers and sisters that I feel I am in no shape to engage consttructively. One comment/question though. What does one do if they feel that neither Kibaki nor Raila and their respective teams is to be trusted?

Valid point; though note this applies to you too. Avoid unproved commentary e.g. Raila arrested, Ruto shot?

Awesome rules. It is about time people exhibited some modicum of civility online. Sober discussions will enrich our discourse unlike the hate speech on Mashada and other blogs that only inflame passions. But then again, some of these people are in far far away land. Well removed from the chaos and mayhem destroying our beloved country.

It’s good to see someone taking a firm stand on this issue of hate speech. Some of the comments I’ve seen on KBW are very disheartening and disturbing, to say the least. Nothing wrong with expressing oneself, but please, let’s all blog responsibly. Thanks!

Kiarie has a point. I think it is very cowardly for someone to issue death threats from behind a computer screen. What I find particularly disheartening is the age and caliber of most of the culprits – some even have teenage kids, so these are not immature people… just immature with a PC.

I appreciate the way you have set people straight on what is intelletual and inciteful. The bad thing about the situation is that most of the people leaving comments all over the net,are living outside Kenya so they hide in their safe havens while our people die.
