About The layout

Two column layout (can be reduced to one, could be thought of as three if you count the vertical toolbox on the right) that provides simple presentation with extensive customization; not just for the developer, but for the user. The toolbox showcases the power of stylesheet switching. Users can pick their own color, font type, font size, and even dictate what style of layout they view your web page in. Navigation is kept brief and easily accessible at the top of the page, allowing for a wider area in the content region. A min/max width allows you to control your layout, but remain flexible for low resolution users.

This months sermon series is most welcome especially looking at a christian practice that is Biblical and has eroded over the years; LGs or Eklesia. As a member of the Mizizi ministry for just about a year, I have seen a life group erode despite some excelling and I think the problem is the thought that the practice is new to many. I pray that the LG ministry may be strengthened to continue handling, reviving or re engineering LGs which are diminishing or have ceased to exist. Thank you Pastor Linda for being directed to this and God bless you and use you for more insights in these real life situations.

As the world gets “modern and sophisticated” people seem to get more independent even from God. There are many more who are hurting silently than ever before. We really need God,s manifestation in humility and total submission to Him in order to experience true healing.Thank you Lord for your message through Pst. Linda. God richly bless and continue using you.

I first came across this fruit in Uganda on our way from the airport in Entebe going to Kampala. My colleague knew about it and he bought it…we thought this guy must be crazy and we wanted nothing to do with him as long as that fruit was around him. He eventually brought it back to Kenya by air and sold it to a group of Asian women in Parklands for KShs 6,000. They use it as an ingredient when baking cakes and true enough it is fantastic.

Wow! I grapple with delayed gratification as my spouse believes that she will give our kids whatever they want so long as it is available, simply because she did not have them when growing up as a child. I personally do not believe in giving it all because it is available, but give in moderation. I wonder which is the right stand?
Thanks for these real life perspectives and may the Lord provide more insights into such real life situations and the solutions to them. God richly bless you and your family Pastor M.

Just like the rest I thought the year was all struggles as usual, but when I did Mizizi it felt like a new year within 2010. It was a real rejuvenation. Teri dont postpone it anymore because everyone leaves with a totally new experience and confidence. Even those who are not yet saved are usually redirected towards that path and it eventually happens. God is real and He is with us. We do not have to look far as He is just here.

Quite some food for thought especially at this time as Ocampo names. Pray that we shall have a God driven process towards all these as the devil is always prowling around looking for someone to devour.

Indeed the work of salvation is not possible by man but only by God. All failures and reasons for failure are inherent in us and without God we can do nothing of our own but waste away in sin. May God guide us in all these teachings, bless Pastor Oscar as he continues i this good work.

Wow!! What a jolting start. I always thought that character weakened skill and confidence when put at the forefront and that skill and competence shaped character faster. There is a lot for me to learn. May God open my spiritual mind to understand His new message to me. Many a times I have read these passages in scripture but have never got these perspectives. May God richly use and bless you Pastor as you deliver His knowledge unto His children like me who stagnated thinking there was nothing more to learn.

Pastor S, this is a true manifestation of the perspective. It all started as a manifestation of hopelessness, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel. MAY god bless you and change us all to conform to HIS WILL as we proceed in this journey of transformation.

Very humbling. As a Dad I fall short and walk with my head folded downwards as these standards are too high for human beings. Protect when they intentionally take risks. Provide even when they are unreasonable in their demands. A priest over those who don’t want to believe and a prophet over those who will scorn and laugh in your face. It is hard to admit you have a family after realising how worthless you are. God help us.

  • Comment on What If Accepting God Means I Remain Single? by Paul

Posted: September 28, 2010, 2:49 pm by Paul

Thank you Pastor M for the re-affirmation. I always thought that “must marry to be complete” was an old school thought and am surprised that it still goes on even in the modern urban society. I went thru similar times which included thoughts such as marriage took place according to sibblings heirarchy at birth i.e. first come marries first etc. Many a times tensions rose because I did not advocate for this and at some point argued that in case one went into catholic priesthood what would happen to the siblings after. The sermon has clarified this and another lesson learnt is that as human beings we tend to be wise or all knowing without seeking God first and as a result waste a lot of time on irrelevant things that do not uplift God or members of His family. May God forgive us and give us wisdom and knowledge of his will for us.

  • Comment on How Can A Loving God Allow Suffering by Paul

Posted: September 16, 2010, 9:00 pm by Paul

    Consider this as an encouragement:-

How do you pray in the midst of bad times? How do you approach God when everything seems to you to be going from bad to worse? What is your attitude when God answers, but not in the manner in which you asked? What is your response when to your perspective God contradicts His own righteousness?

Welcome to Habakkuk, the Hebrew prophet in the seventh century B.C. God taught him how to trust Him when everything is filled with confusion and perplexities. Where is God? What is He doing? Why doesn’t He do something now? Habakkuk sounds like us when life begins to unravel and fall apart.

Habakkuk teaches us how to pray and trust the LORD God when we don’t have the answers. Let’s center our thoughts around an acrostic P R A Y E R.

P – pursue God. That is what prayer is all about. Habakkuk asked, “How long, O LORD, will I call for help, and You will not answer?” (1:1).

Yes, it is a complaint. His heart is full of anguish. But He is pursuing God. He knows that He has the freedom to go into the presence of the LORD God and open his heart to Him. That is when God invites us to come into His holy presence. That is when we realize that we need Him. Those are also the times when He comes in His mighty power to help us. “I will stand on my guard post And station myself on the rampart; And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, And how I may reply when I am reproved” (Habakkuk 2:1, NASB 1995). The LORD is in His holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before Him” (v.20).

R – examine self and confess sin. “LORD, I have heard the report about Thee and I fear. O LORD, revive Thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy” (3:1). The prophet confessed his fears and asked God to revive His work. He prays that God’s work, not his own plans, will be renewed. “Renew your deeds; receive your work,” is the prophet’s confession. He was praying for revival.

The only way we dare approach God is in humility and a plea that He be merciful to us. We need to ask God to do a new work in us. In Your wrath please remember us with mercy.

A – ffirmation of what God is doing. The prophet asked God why He wasn’t doing something about the iniquity, wickedness, destruction, and violence in the land. The LORD told Habakkuk that He was busy doing something. “I am doing something in your days – You would not believe if you were told” (1:5).

The God of history was busy at work. “For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans” (v. 6). Babylonians! Yes. Things are not always as they appear to us. There is no power in the world that is not ultimately controlled by Him. Every nation of the earth is under the hand of a sovereign God. God is over all – even the evil Babylonians! The events of history are not random accidents; they follow God’s eternal plan (cf. 3:3-15). The LORD God is the Lord of history. He is in control of history, and He will continue to accomplish His eternal purpose of redemption for His people.

Y – ield yourself to the LORD God. Habakkuk did not like what he heard God reveal. “Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You can not look on wickedness with favor. Why do You look with favor On those who deal treacherously? Why are You silent when the wicked swallow up those more righteous than they?” (Habakkuk 1:13, NASB 1995).

This is where the prophet grew in His knowledge of God and understanding of His ways with men. What is God teaching me that needs to be corrected? Let us learn to judge everything in the light of His eternal purpose. “The righteous will live by his faith” (2:4). God is still the eternal God, and nothing catches Him by surprise. Nothing can separate us from His love. It is in those moments we must reaffirm that conviction and yield to His sovereignty.

E – xpect God to answer according to His will. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14, NASB 1995).

In time God will answer according to His eternal purposes. God controls history. The Babylonians did not rise up on their own. God raised them up to accomplish His purposes in the history of Israel. They were the tool in God’s hand for correction and purification of His people. Look for God’s answer in His Word. God will answer your prayers, and you will be able to stand back in awe and say, “I saw God do it.”

R – ejoice and give thanks to God. Habakkuk closes with a doxology. “Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk on my high places. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments” (Habakkuk 3:18-19, NASB

Its so much in the middle of a mysterious story that it is hard to make any meaningful comment. However, thanks be to God for Sifa and James as these are real-time testimonies of God at work. It is just like it was when Jesus physically walked the face of this earth. God indeed sees, we win and I matter…I am still absorbing the teaching and asking God for wisdom and knowledge to understand and apply His teaching. There are still difficult questions I am asking Him since the previous sunday when it was revealed that doubt leads to learning. Thank you Pst M. God bless you all and grant us knowledge and understanding of His word.

Good revelation. I am actually right in doubting and then going to seek reasons from God. It is amazing that the great men of God doubted and even Jesus doubted God’s presence at the most crucial moment. I feel freed as a son to go back to the old man with courage to seek answers for whatever comes between me and Him and not to just sit there and think it is the will of God. That was a very liberating and elevating message. Indeed if God sets you free you are free indeed. Glory be to Him forever.
