They look pretty dead from where am
sitting … But are they?
You are currently browsing the monthly archive for July 2003.
I come across brilliant articles and wonderful ideas to blog about during my busy time being me but inevitably by 5pm I’ve forgotten all about them. I don’t even remember that I am meant to remember and thus proceed to post absolutely bollox like this post. Someone out there should design a bloggers PDA. Actually maybe that is what Dictaphones are for. I could sit on the buss 111, pull out the machine and say:
“Mentalacrobatics July 24th 2003 six pm, entry: why the hell do stagecoach manchester insist on putting single decker buses on route 111 in the middle of flippin’ rush hour and double-decker buses at flippin’ 11pm at night?”
But then people might think I was losing the plot and I would be to lazy to type up the stuff anyway. Perhaps I should post the messages directly on to the site as an audio file. Decisions, decisions!
Well the good news is that I have refused to comment on stuff ya’ll think am going to write about such as this or even this. The other good news (well good for me anyway) is that our battle with NTL should soon be resolved in a win - win manner. They get our money, we get their services. Flippin obvious really.
The silence is temporary while I install a new virtual house for mentalacrobatics at my new real estate powered by broadband. In the meantime I suggest that you throw raisins at each other.
I just looked at Recommended Reading list for this site from DiveintoMark. The theory is if you like reading this site you will also enjoy what is on the list. Which in turns means that these links should say something about my personality. Dutchbint and SwishCottage I actually confess to reading occasionally, well before swishcottage went on holiday. Another one on an extended sabbatical is Mo Morgan. Rebbeca Blood is like a blog god. She actually writes books and rules about blogs etc. which means she would probably hate mentalacrobatics as I seem to break quite a few of her rules. The Presurfer and Asmallvictory both sound like they employ the same fundamental philosophy I do; to make a lot of noise online about something and everything. Emmanuelle unfortunately has nothing to do with the award winning porn star of the same name. In fact this Emmanuelle is male and French. Chezlubacov am still trying to figure out, if you have any luck let a brother know. Troubled Diva, as the name suggests, is all about a guy in London with a very active life. Don’t get your hopes up ladies he is gay, don’t get your hopes up lads he is in a “stable relationship”. At least Yankiwi writes about rugby and I like the idea behind the site.
So what does all this say about me? Either I’m a very confused person or extremely accommodating and well travelled. I wonder which? This reminds of an article I read about a guy who set up his TiVo to automatically record TV programmes it thought he would like after monitoring his TV watching habits for a month. A month in he checked what the machine had recommend and found the archive full of gay drama like Queer as Folk and cooking programmes. Shocked that the machine has misread him he decided to watch more manly programmes for the next month. After checking his archives he found the machine had recorded every single programme about the Third Reich and hunting. Basically as far as his TV was concerned he was either a gay chef or a Nazi loving environmentalist.
The strange thing about the links up there is that they do not mention the sites I visit almost daily. Hmmmm.
Things done changed, in more ways than one.
At least I am no longer homeless!
Back in full effect.
There are some things you do not even know you need until you discover they exist. For example; Washing machines, icemakers, CD writers, mobile phones and Sweet Release. However to be fair I don’t quite think I need Sweet Release yet; the flavours would probably put me off. Just the other day this idea was only a patent . Now it is a full industry.
