Nyakio Kamoche

Nyakio Kamoche founded NYAKIO a bath and body line that helps to enrich, maintain, and invigorate the mind and body through skin therapy based on beauty secrets passed down through her Kenyan heritage. She started the company in her dining room, now it is making waves all over the US.

Chill out on the bangs

Why the hell does an artist like Cassidy whose only song of note is all about taking a gal to his hotel room feel the need to start his concert with five, yes FIVE, minutes of gunshots? All we heard for the first five mins was bang bang bang bang bangy bang bangy bang. What the hell is that? It’s just not necessary son.

On that note why the hell doesn’t anyone sing anymore? I mean really sing? At the restaurant at work the radio station always plays a few Whitney tracks and if you look around you see almost everyone subconsciously humming to, “I wanna dance with somebody” or even “I’m every woman” while they eat or read the paper. Then some stupid stuff recorded this side of el nino comes along and everyone walks out and back to their desks. Speaking of Whitney I recently saw the music video of “I wanna dance with somebody” and may I just put on record again that the 80’s were a fashion and dance disaster.

Back to Cassidy, about half way through his show the music turns off and he starts on the “let’s fire one shot for The Notorious B.I.G, let’s fire one shot for TuPac, let’s fire one shot for JamMaster Jay”, is that just stupid or what? Why the hell would you “fire shots” to honour people who were shot down in cold blood? That’s like opening a gas chamber to honour holocaust victims. To be fair to Cassidy almost all rappers go through this routine in their live shows. Well new school rappers anyway. And he did apologise for the poor sound quality and for the late start to the show before he spoilt everything with bang bang bang bang bang bloody bang. And then he said, “Pull out your guns and wave them in the air.” Listen Cassidy mate, if I am risking my neck on bank holiday Monday to come to your concert please please please do not encourage Manchester’s gangs to pull out any weapons. This is not a game man! Bloody hell. Everyone started looking around suspiciously and bouncers started fiddling with their bullet proof vests.

On the issue of bouncers some clown sitting in some council office somewhere has decided to allow bouncers to carry handcuffs. What the hell is going on here? Someone is serious taking the piss. I know they call summer silly season but sober the hell up its September now. Has the world gone mad? You are going to allow bouncers, the egomaniacs, violent, gang related, and drug dealing lot of them to carry handcuffs? Someone please wake me up when all this madness is over!

Ok rant over, now go and look at some nice pictures of a cute
baby panda. Awwww.

Dictator lists

What do Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea’s Teodoro Obiang Nguema and King Mswati III of Swaziland have in common? Well they all made Parade Magazine’s The World’s 10 Worst Dictators. 4th, 6th and 10th respectively. One former African dictator did make it to the top of The Observer Sports Magazine’s Top ten worst sportsmen in politics. Who else but His Excellency President for Life Field Marshal Al Hadji Dr Idi Amin, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular also King of Scotland.

Olympic post mortem

Olympic post mortem … I made it through the whole games without mentioning the good sport of Women’s beach volleyball. I mean I didn’t even link to any rather tasty pictures. I must be growing up. Meanwhile the British backlash against Paula “I didn’t want to finish fourth so I quit” Radcliffe has begun … I didn’t even post anything about this picture or this one; clearly I’ve grown up … the Kenyan team after their worst performance since 1984 were rewarded with a “lavish reception” … at least the government has started to openly recognise and appreciate our athletes, now if only the Kenyan public did the same maybe the guys wouldn’t feel the need to accept Qatari blood money to get some love … none of the brand new Qatari’s won any medals lol … The Guardian came up with an alternative medal table dividing the number of gold medals won by individual national income. Kenya doesn’t make it to the top of African countries in this one either, the Ethiopians do.
