I’m safe in Nairobi and things are looking up.
Thanks for all your comments.
This whole experience is gonna make one heck of a blog post one day I tell ya.
You are currently browsing the monthly archive for January 2006.
Multiple-choice time:
What do you do when you are in transit in a foreign country and your airline has lost your passport and ticket?
What do you do when after 32 hours of sitting in one of the world’s most uncomfortable airport lounges, with crap food and no sleep you are informed that they just have no idea where the hell they put your passport?
What do you do when you ask for a manager and are told, “today Saturday, no manager on weekend.”
What do you do when you realize that you have to fly back to Kenya and go through the whole replacement passport/replacement visa routine for the second time in a year probably spending over $200.00 in the process?
What do you do when you find out the next flight back to Kenya is in 18 hours and even thought THEY lost your FRIGGIN’ PASSPORT, they expect you to sit and nod taking all the crap?
What do you do when the phone cards you buy do not work and the airline refuses to let you use their phones and you need to inform people back in Kenya that instead of being in Manchester you are actually stuck, without any travel documents, somewhere in the middle of nowhere?
Do you:
a.) Cry
b.) Insult the airline and get punched by three airline stuff as happened to one unfortunate fellow right in front of me yesterday
c.) Cry
d.) Finally flip at 4.30am, demand to be moved into the first class lounge free of charge, pick up the nearest phone and call Nairobi, log on to one of the first class longue computers and put up a nasty blog post before blacking out for the next 12 hours slightly worried that you will miss your flight back to Kenya?
Goodnight. Developments as they arise (assuming they don’t kick me out for writing this.)
