Bringing in the big (advertising) dogs

Looks like the powers that be have decided that Alfred Mutua’sNARC Government Achievements at a glance” campaign could use some help. Some serious help.

The Kenyan government has hired the Saatchi and Saatchi advertising agency to handle its nationwide anti-corruption campaign.

The political landscape is dominated by figures tainted by corruption, acting aganist them would be the best anti-corruption campaign. You can run all the “nationwide anti-corruption campaigns” you want, at some point you will actually have to start fighting corruption. I could have told them that for free!

I bet Mutua is patting himself on the back for thinking that one up - muppet!

First they steal my tax shillings and THEN they use my tax shillings to funga my machos about it?? I’m fresh out of matusis.

Well yes, of course you could have told them that for free, but if S and S are getting paid, why shouldn’t you? I suggest that you hire yourself out as a consultant mara moja! I too, am available to fill in any gaps that S and S might miss, such as, well, the way to look like you are fighting corruption is actually to fight it! Or, hey! Attacking the press is not good for your image. Or. Do you think that perhaps you might just want to solve this Goldenburg Anglo-Leasing thing, because that would give us a lot more room to work in? Yeah. I can do that! What’s the going fee?

Hi all, I attended the protests today. Do find my reflections at the following link: http://kenyananalyst.blogspot.com/2006/03/uhuru-park-memo.html

though there comes a point where it’s too late to doctor certain things into the positive… especially glaring facts…

Yeah, I blogged that ad agency thing, too. I added a tag especially for that: “Political Surrealism.” Jesus H Christ! Especially love this bit “Saatchi’s creative director, Samira Mathews, said one of the problems in Kenya was that people did not know how to identify corruption.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself. We’re being hood-winked!
@Cramer - “….. Samira Mathews said one of the problems in Kenya was that people did not know how to identify corruption.” - Ha ha ha!

I dont understand why they have to go to a big company when an individual in Nairobi can do probably the same thing for less. Obviously the standards wont be like those of Saatchi and Saatchi……..lakini after seeing the ‘pla-cards’ they were waving during ‘the Standard Raid’ march on Kenyamoto.com - someone has the talent.

vhat shay you?

I think the Kibaki govenrment has made the right move. Kibaki to me is still teh best poitician we have in Kenya and we need to put him back in 2007.

who else are we waiting to do half of what kibaki has done. ODM is full of people who see no problem with corruption. Kajwang lost his practicing license after refsuing to pay a poor clients money and he supposed to be teh right hand man of next president-if-ODM-survives, RAILA. Kajwang who if Raila wins may take the constituioanl affairs docket , has called on kibaki to award a meddle of honour to Raila for grabbing the molasses plant and making it productive to provide jobs - so by this reasoning if Murungaru has any Angloleasing money and he built schools and other investments to help teh community in poor Kieni, he should be awarded a meddle.

SOMEBODY NEED TO RISE AND LEAD THIS COUNTRY TO WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

mental…..ebu introduce a spell checker! i think some people need it to make sense.

well…well….guess who owns the local franchise of Saatchi & Saatchi (mcl-saatchi)….none other than mr. mutahi kagwe!
